In the summer of 2021, I embarked on an attempt to conquer the peaks of each historic English county, maybe adding the Welsh ones in due course. The idea was to have an excuse to visit every part of the country and to record some thoughts (including an attempt at poetry or a musical interlude) on each climb. On 31 August I made a start by climbing Brown Willy on Bodmin Moor, Cornwall.
